This experts, trained at El Bulli and now linked with its Foundation, colaborated with Jancis Robinson, one of the world’s most influential voice.

Tenerife– 03/07/2017. The prestigious sumiller Ferrán Centelles, trained at El Bulli and now linked to its Foundation created by Ferrán Adriá, approached to Tenerife Wine in order to know the quality and variety existing. Centelles, who tasted up to 50 Tenerife wines, gave a lecture on ‘Trends on Harmony: new ways of communication’, organised by Cabildo de Tenerife.

The Catalan sumiller is possibly one of the best Spanish professionals as well as a world reference together with Jancis Robinson, especialized in Spanish wines.

Jesús Morales, responsible for the Department of Agriculture, Cattle and Fishing, emphasizes that Centelle’s interest on Tenerife Wine “shows how attractive are our wines both within and outside our borders”. In addition, Morales highlights that Ferrán Centelle’s presence is a “unique opportunity to get to know fIrst-hand de wine variety of the island”.

Board members of Viboten ( Assotiation of Wine Growers and Wine Makers of Tenerife), who gave a positive assessment of the proposal. Carlos Cólogan who next week will launch its newest research on Tenerife Wine, also attended the activity.

Centelles started his professional career at El Bulli (2000-2011) and ever since he has not stopped studying and working within and outside Spain. In London he obtained his WSET Diploma as an Advanced Sommelier CMS, and was responsible for El Bulli’s wine list for 13 years. He has also worked in recognised restaurants such as Aurora, The Vineyard’s ot Maggiore’s in London.

He is also co-founder of the Outlook Wine (The Barcelona Wine School) and Wineissocial.com. Centelles won the Ruinart Prize in 2006 ( best sommelier in Spain) and its valued contribution to the wine culture has led him to win the National Gastronomy Prize in  2011 as well as the prize by Best Professional in 2013 the Asociación Catalana de Gastronomía.
