Sumellier Ferrán Centelles highlights the values of Tenerife wines in an article published in the Jancis Robinson guide, one of the most influential voices worldwide
Tenerife – 15/12/2017. The wines of Tenerife are the prominent protagonists of a publication by the prestigious wine guru Jancis Robinson, one of the most influential voices worldwide in the sector. The sumellier Ferrán Centelles, specialized in Spanish wines, has published an article on the particularities of the wines elaborated in the Island.
Trained in El Bulli and now linked to the Foundation created by chef Ferrán Adriá, Ferrán Centelles was in Tenerife this summer to learn in depth about the quality and variety of the Tenerife wines. The prestigious Catalan sumellier, probably one of the best professionals in Spain who is also a national and international reference, had the opportunity to taste about 50 references of Tenerife wines.
Jesús Morales, Head of Tenerife’s Agriculture Department, highlightes the interest that Tenerife wines arouse “inside and outside our borders”. Morales points out that the publication of a report in Jancis Robinson’s prestigious guide is an “excellent promotion for our viticultural wealth to be known all over the world”.
The five designations of origin existing in the island, Tenerife Wine’s history, grape varieties and their peculiarities that make the wines of the Island unique, are some of the aspects that Centelles addresses in the report. All of these have “an incalculable promotional value”, Morales stated.
