This initiative is carried out jointly with the sector with the aim of promoting the commercialization and consumption of the product.
Cabildo has designed a strategy to promote the wines of Tenerife, together with the sector, in order to encourage the population to buy and consume the wines that are made on the island, appealing to their connection with the territory and with the local identity.
The vice president and Head of the Agricultural Department, Jesús Morales, presented this morning the initiative together with the presidents of the regulatory councils of the DO Tacoronte-Acentejo, Esteban Reyes; Valle de Güímar, Antonio Gómez, and Valle de La Orotava, Jesús Corvo, as well as the president of the Association of Bodegueros y Viticultores de Tenerife, Enrique Alfonso.
Morales highlighted the joint work done with the sector, “which has allowed us to place the wines of Tenerife at the highest through multiple actions throughout the year since its presence in Madrid Fusion, at the Gourmet or Fenavin fairs until the prominence acquired by Tenerife wines in the framework of the World Travel Market or in the Michelin Guide gala of he Michelin Guide, among others “.
He also assessed the tourism potential of the wines linked to the complementary offer, “in such a way that the strength of our gastronomy and its role as an element of attraction is put in value”.

Singular wines
This strategy, which has already begun to be disseminated with a campaign in different media, aims to strengthen the marketing and consumption of Tenerife wines by delving into the idea that they are part of Tenerife’s life because they come from the land, represent us abroad. Wines are full of history, effort, volcano, hours of soft sun, uniqueness … Ultimately, our wines are full of us, of ‘Everything we are’, which like last year is the main slogan of this platform promoting Tenerife wines.
This initiative, which has the support of the Regulatory Councils of Abona, Güímar, Valle de La Orotava and Tacoronte-Acentejo and also of the Association of Winemakers and Vine Growers of Tenerife, includes dissemination actions on various media as well as screen displays at the two airports on the Island.
Since 2003 Cabildo develops a plan to promote the wines of Tenerife that has now become a fundamental tool to promote the wineries attached to the five appellations of origin.
The wines of the Island are characterized by a great wealth of nuances and types that in many occasions are even unknown by the local consumer. Hence the importance of actions such as this that can support the sale of the product and with which the enormous potential of Tenerife wines is made known as a unique and different product that can be consumed at any time and in combination with all types of dishes.
